In a household dominated by women, where the absence of a father has caused victimization to poor Cinderella, we witnessed a shift from the house in which she was brought up in to the home, or castle, that she creates.
She made it through the tough times, not by physical action, but by wishing and properly expressing her emotions; all the while embracing the degradation and the ensuing sadness associate with her less than ideal environment. Much like the Cancer female, she doesn't act out or tell her stepmom or stepsisters where they can go, instead she accepts her conditions. She "feels" her pain and fear, which in turn fuels her dearest wishes; the way Cancer females feel and use their intuition to guide them to better conditions. Remember in the story when, one day the Prince invited all the young ladies in the land to a ball so he could choose a wife. As the two Stepsisters were invited, they gleefully planned their wardrobes. Although Cinderella assisted them and dreamed of going to the dance, they taunted her by saying a maid could never attend a ball. As the sisters swept away to the ball, Cinderella cried in despair, this was the Cancer female and the unleashing of all their bottle up emotions. Her Fairy Godmother magically appeared and vowed to assist Cinderella in attending the ball. All the action happens at night; Cinderella is whisked off in a pumpkin, a vegetable ruled by Cancer as it grows at night, you might say, by the light of the moon, drawn by nocturnal mice, and don't forget the glass slippers. Those magical pwers of intuition eventually transform her into a princess, literally achieving sren "highness", the way Cancer females do when they show a healthy dose of emotions and do away with their fears. The Godmother told her to enjoy the ball, but return before midnight for the spells would be broken. Armed with all she's wished for, Cinderella doesn't wait around for her prince to trot up; she goes and gets him; likewise, Cancer females are not going to be "saved" by playing the victim, but must instead pull themselves up emotionally and take action! Their highter self comes from going through, not around, the negative aspects of their lives. Life is all about process; escape is not an option.
Fast forwarding through the story, during the grand ball the Prince was truly enchanted by her sensual, mysterious nature. However, this evening she lost track of time and left only at the final stroke of midnight, losing one of her glass slippers on the steps of the palace in her haste. The Prince chased her, but outside the palace, the guards had seen only a simple country girl leave. The Prince pocketed the slipper and vowed to find and marry the girl to whom it belonged. Meanwhile, Cinderella kept the other slipper, which had not disappeared when the spell had broken; this is an example of the Cancer female's hopes and dreams. They never loose sight and always keep things to remind them of their past experiences. These women have great memories and easily retain information, especially where they are involved. Like the Cancer female, Cinderella ran away because she feared being ridiculed and really wanted the approval of the Prince. Cancers are easily hurt by critism and that's why Cinderella high tailed it out of there.
Of course, the Prince came looking for her, trying the slipper on all the young women in the land; for once you get a taste of the Cancer female's love, you'll never forget it! When the Prince arrived at Cinderella's villa, the Stepsisters tried in vain. When Cinderella asked if she might try, the Stepsisters taunted her, but this did not get in the way of her going after what she wanted. Naturally, the slipper fit perfectly, and Cinderella produced the other slipper for good measure. The Prince was overjoyed and took Cinderella back to the palace to marry her; something she had always dreamed. Like the Cancer female, on her first opportunity to be saved by a male and secured in a home, she took it! Living happily ever after! Even though the love life of a Cancer female is not a piece of fairy tale literature, her life is much like Cinderella's and if she has anything to say about, she will achieve that dreamy state of union with an ideal mate. She will stop at nothing to gain more independence and be able to share her love totally in a strong, sensual, and independent relationship. Forever!

Cancer is a mysterious sign, filled with contradictions. Cancer males want security and comfort, yet seek new adventure. They are very helpful to others yet sometimes can be cranky and indifferent. COMPLIMENTARY LITERATURE
Yes this is the story about a mysterious spirit carved from a piece of pine by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a small Italian village, who was created as a wooden puppet, but dreamed of becoming a real boy. Remember at the beginning of the story, a simple pine log is given to a man named Mastro Cherry, who plans to carve it into a leg for his table. When he begins, however, a little voice cries, "No, you hurt me!" This was simply an illustration of the the "feeling" power illustrated through the Cancer male. Disturbed by the talking log, Mastro Cherry continues to carve the piece of wood, when again the little voice wails its pain. Becoming frustrated and confused, Mastro Cherry eventually gives up trying to carve the wood, and ends up giving it to his friend, the carpenter Geppetto, who carves wooden dolls.
After he finished designing Pinocchio and teaching him to walk, Pinocchio runs away, off into the city where he finds trouble for his creator/father, Geppetto, which lands him in jail. Once Pinocchio arrives home, The Talking Cricket, who has lived in the house for over a century, tells him that boys who do not obey their parents grow up to be donkeys. Of course, Cancers hate to be critized or ridiculed so, he retaliated, throwing a hammer at the cricket, more accurately than he intended to, and believes he killed it. Unable to find food in the house, Pinocchio cries himself to sleep with his feet upon the stove. The next morning he wakes to find that his feet have burnt off. His father, who has been released from jail and has with him three pears for a meal, makes his son a new pair of feet. Since Pinocchio says he is starving, Geppetto gives him the pears and teaches Pinocchio to waste nothing. In gratitude, Pinocchio promises to go to school. Since Geppetto has no money to buy school books he sales his coat.
Throughout the story Pinocchio's conscious, represented by the talking grasshopper, speaks to him, but he denies it and keeps his true emotions inside. Fast forwarding through the story, Pinochio finds himself in trouble again with a fox and a cat (aries and leo probably, lol) and runs through the forest, when he sees a white house ahead. Stopping to knock on the door, he is greeted by The Fairy with Turquoise Hair. He really takes to her and she shows motherly love by protecting him. When she questions him and he lies, his knows grow. He simply can not hold in his emotions, and must grow inside before he can prevent his outside to "stop" growing. This is the same for the Cancer male. They must accept and come to terms with their sensuality/emotional side and release all the anger and frustration that is built up inside. See the thing is ... Pinocchio wants so much to be a "real boy" and yet he's stuck in performance mode, dragged through imitative motions of what he perceives to be acceptable male behavior. Not embracing his true self, especially his deep and varied sexual imagination and desisres; he risks having more than a growing nose give his true feelings away, despite attempts to retain that cool and detached demeanor.
Like actual crabs who can live both on land or in water, Cancer males inhabit two worlds at once, presenting themself as a concrete, down to earth type while possessing a murky and mysterious sensuality inside. At the end of the story, after long months of working for the farmer and supporting the ailing Geppetto he goes to town with what money he has saved (fifty copper pennies to be exact) to buy himself a new suit. He meets the snail, who tells him that the Turquoise Fairy is ill and needs money. Pinocchio instantly gives the snail all the money he has, promising that he will help his mother as much as he is helping his father. That night, he dreams he is visited by the Fairy, who kisses him. When he wakes up, he is a real boy at last. Furthermore, Pinocchio finds that the Fairy left him a new suit and boots, and a bag which Pinocchio thinks is the fifty pennies he originally loaned to the Turquoise Fairy. The boy is shocked to find instead fifty freshly minted gold coins. He is also reunited with Geppetto, now healthy and resuming woodcarving. They live happily ever after. Just like Pinocchio, when the Cancer male releases his fears and presents a positive protective nature, things begin to turn around for them and develop. Taking care of family and home life is the best route for a Cancer male; keeps them grounded and open in sharing the love that is needed by their surroundings.
